Jericho Health Centre Building

Work is progressing well on the new health centre in Jericho, formally known as New Radcliffe House..

The existing health centre on Walton Street will be re-housed on the ground floor of the new building.

It will accommodate three GP surgeries including those of Dr Bogdanor and Partners, Dr Chivers and Partners and Dr Kearley and Partners.

These surgeries will be supported by services including training and education, visiting consultants and approved complimentary health services. Nursing services will also be accommodated.

The new building will be situated in the top left hand corner of the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter site, opposite the entrances to Cardigan Street and Jericho Street. Pedestrians will be able to access the health centre, and the rest of the ROQ site, from Walton Street.

The upper floors of the building will provide accommodation for the University’s Department for Primary Health Care and Oxford University Press.

The University will be providing vehicle access, including a pedestrian crossing, to the rear (north) of the building, and cycle and pedestrian access to the front (south) of the building. There will be better access to the bus stop via a new crossing point and there will be six new disabled parking bays alongside the building on Walton Street.

Associated works will include the use of more robust surface materials and necessary drainage improvements. Works have been agreed with Oxfordshire County Council and are due to start in late April, lasting approximately eight weeks. For more information please contact community@admin.ox.ac.uk

The building is due to open in July.
