The University of Oxford has been selected as a finalist for the BBSRC Excellence with Impact Competition, following a successful presentation to the judging panel in London in February 2016.
The competition is designed to encourage activities that seek to widen the impact of our research through Knowledge Exchange, Commercialisation and Public Engagement. The central theme of our entry is “Working to Embed an Entrepreneurial Culture at the Heart of Fundamental Science”.
The competition runs from 2013 – 2016, with the winner gaining £0.5million to support Knowledge Exchange activity. There are also awards for runners up. The shortlisted participants will be visited by a judging panel in March/April 2016 and the award winners will be announced at an awards event in May 2016.
Our participation in the competition is underpinned by a ten point plan for developing impact from biosciences research across the University.
