Dr Ekaterina Hertog

Career Development Fellow in the Sociology of Japanese Society, Department of Sociology and Nissan Institute of Japanese Studies


Dr Hertog researches family trends in Japan, as well as the broader context in which the individual choices that form these trends take place. Her particular interests include the childbearing choices of unmarried Japanese women and how they are affected by welfare systems, legal institutions and economic trends.
