Most of us will experience several career changes in our professional lives, whether desired or imposed. That means living through a time of transition, the subjective experience of moving from old to new roles and self-conceptions. In this lecture, Herminia will discuss the nature of identity, the primacy of work in shaping and changing our sense of self, the vagaries of finding oneself 'betwixt and between' identities, and the importance of work activities, social networks and personal narratives in both loosening old identifications and experimenting with new possible selves.
