Curiosity Carnival volunteer team

Roll up!  There is a carnival coming to town and you can take part by joining the Curiosity Carnival Volunteer team.

On Friday 29 September, the University of Oxford will take part in European Researchers’ Night, the University’s biggest Public Engagement with Research event to date.

The Curiosity Carnival is all about celebrating, debating and questioning the way that research affects all our lives. It’s a unique opportunity for people of all ages and interests to enjoy an amazing programme of research-related activity – most of which is free to attend.

On the night, events will take place in venues across Oxford, spilling out into the city's streets. Attractions will include bite-size talks, music, walking tours, live demonstrations, games, acrobatics, and much more, with the researcher-led activities taking place in the University’s gardens, libraries, museums and at Wytham Woods. And behind every great event is a great team of Carnival Makers - volunteers making magic happen.

Carnival Makers will be the approachable, helpful face of the carnival helping visitors enjoy themselves and join in. We are looking for staff and students across the collegiate University to be part of the team. You could be at the train station giving directions on how to get to the Ashmolean, in Broad Street handing out balloons, outside the Botanic Garden acting as a human signpost or at various locations being friendly and helpful, showing Oxford at its best.

If this sounds like something you'd like to be involved with, please sign up to be a Carnival Maker’ by completing the short online application form:
