Video: Sir Roger's memories of breaking the four-minute mile

Today marks the 60th anniversary of Sir Roger Bannister becoming the first man to break the fabled four-minute mile on the Iffley Road track.

Since that day in 1954, Sir Roger has had a distinguished career as a neurologist, providing insights into the autonomic nervous system.

The former medical student of Exeter and Merton colleges later become Master of Pembroke College and has retained his close links to the University throughout his life.

Today his remarkable career is being celebrated with a lunch for Sir Roger and his family held at Exeter College.

Sir Roger also spoke to the University for a special video in which he shares his memories of that May afternoon when he became the first human to run a mile in under four minutes.
