Professor Montgomery studies which interventions are most effective in tackling complex psychological, social, and health problems. His academic work spans a range of issues, from chronic sleep problems to HIV/AIDS, and integrates the use of several high-quality methodological approaches, many of which have not been traditionally applied in the social sciences.
A social worker by training, he maintains a clinical practice on top of his academic work. He specialises in Brief Intervention and Cognitive Behavioural techniques for depression, anxiety and insomnia, and treats both adults and adolescents.
