Professor Matt Friedman

Professor of Palaeobiology, Department of Earth Sciences; Fellow of St Hugh's College

Professor Friedman's research group studies the evolutionary history of vertebrates, with the aim of understanding how modern vertebrate biodiversity came about. Current projects span vertebrate history, from the divergence of jawed vertebrates deep within the Palaeozoic to the origin of novel bodyplans in the Cenozoic.
