Visas and permits

If you are a foreign national moving to Oxford from overseas, you may require a Certificate of Sponsorship from the University. This provides an authorisation number for you to obtain a visa or the right to remain in the UK. Guidance about this can be obtained from the administrator in your new department or from the University's Work Permits Desk.

Guidance on eligibility for academic visitors' visas is available on the Work Permits Desk website. Visas must be obtained from your nearest British visa post.
