David Willetts MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Universities and Skills, visited the University of Oxford on Thursday 18 June.
He was given a tour of the University's new Biochemistry building where he joined leading academics for a discussion on the importance of investment in the sciences at universities, particularly during an economic downturn.
Mr Willetts also met the Vice-Chancellor and others to discuss a range of issues, including the need for better graduate student funding and widening access at both an undergraduate and graduate student levels.
