The Complete University Guide has put Oxford University top of its 2010 league table.
The Guide is published in association with The Independent newspaper and Oxford has been at the head of this table for seven out of the last eight years.
The table ranks 113 universities in the UK on factors such as student satisfaction and the job prospects of graduates. This year the rankings also include new information on the research performance of UK universities, following last year’s Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) results.
Dr John Hood, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford, said: ‘I am pleased Oxford has once again topped the Complete University Guide league table. It reflects the hard work and dedication of scholars and staff across the University and the colleges, who strive to ensure students get the most out of their time at Oxford.’
Alongside the main league table there are separate listings for 62 different subjects. Oxford is in the top ten for all 37 subjects it offers and leads the national tables for eight.
The Complete University Guide ranks institutions on a number of measures: student satisfaction, research assessment, entry standards, student/staff ratio, spending on academic services and other facilities, degree results, completion rates and graduate prospects.
The subject tables look at student satisfaction, research assessment, entry standards and graduate job prospects.
