Award-winning journalist to be new Editor of Oxford Today

Gregory Neale will edit Oxford Today, the University's alumni magazine, from the Michaelmas 2007 edition onwards. He succeeds Georgina Ferry, who has edited the magazine for seven years.

Mr Neale is the Founding Editor of BBC History Magazine, for which he has twice won the British Society of Magazine Editors' 'Editor of the Year' awards. He is also a broadcaster, working for BBC Television (most recently for Newsnight and The World), and a former print journalist, whose previous newspapers include The Sunday Telegraph (as Environment Correspondent), The Daily Telegraph (as Editor of the Weekend section) and The Times. He has written for New Statesman, The Independent, The Independent on Sunday, The Guardian, The Observer, the Financial Times and others. He is the author of the environmental book The Green Travel Guide.

Mr Neale did a History degree at Birkbeck College, London, whilst still working as a journalist, after which he did a Modern History MSt at Pembroke College, Oxford.
