IT for Students

Both your college and department provide local IT support and services but many of the IT services used across all colleges and departments are provided by the Computing Services department (OUCS).

OUCS provides a wide range of IT services to support the IT needs of the University.  These include your email (the Nexus service), the University’s VLE (WebLearn), and the IT Help Centre.  OUCS runs the University’s telecoms service, the single sign-on service, the archiving and back-up service, podcasting, iTunes U and offers training courses in all aspects of computing.  OUCS also operates the backbone high-speed network which connects each department, faculty and college.

> Guide to IT at Oxford University

To learn more about the IT services available to you, please see OUCS’s Guide to IT at Oxford University. The guide provides information on your Oxford (Single Sign-On) Username, what to do if you are bringing your own computer, how to protect that device and further details on the services available from OUCS.
