Internships and Work Experience

Oxford University Internship Programme
The University’s Careers Service can advise on various internship opportunities abroad. Most are organised through the Oxford University Internship Programme, which was set up in 2008 to give Oxford students access to invaluable work experience in a wide range of organisations all over the world. In 2012, over 200 internships were on offer. More information can be found here: The Oxford University Internship Programme

IARU Internships
There are internships available through the International Alliance of Research Universities. The most popular programme is the IARU Sustainability internship programme, which sees two Oxford students per year go to one of the other IARU member universities to gain work experience in the field of sustainability, and in return, international students undertake internships at Oxford.

TravelAid is an Oxford-based charity set up and run by students, which creates partnerships between students and small, grassroots charities around the world. They aim to reach some of those most in need of support and to provide local solutions to various problems through local people. Students fundraise for the charity in teams and subsequently volunteer for up to six weeks.
