Research ethics committee seeks members

Are you willing to be a lay member for the Oxford Tropical Research Ethics Committee? OxTREC reviews University medical research proposals to be conducted abroad. Lay members must live near Oxford, attend 6 meetings annually and have no specialist interest in healthcare. Otherwise anyone can apply. Experience of tropical countries is an advantage. Research participants sought

JennerTrial of TB vaccines in healthy adults: we are looking for volunteers in the Oxford area for a trial comparing BCG when given as an injection with BCG given as an aerosol. Oxford University Newcomers' Club

The Oxford University Newcomers' Club at the University Club, 11 Mansfield Rd, OX1 3SZ, welcomes the wives, husbands or partners of visiting scholars, of graduate students and of newly appointed academic members of the University. We offer help, advice, information and the opportunity to meet others socially. Informal coffee mornings are held in the club every Wednesday 10.30–12 (excluding the Christmas vacation).
