Volunteers sought

Volunteers are wanted to join the Independent Monitoring Board at Bullingdon Prison, near Bicester. The role of the board is to monitor day-to-day life in the prison, and to ensure that proper standards of care and decency are maintained. Oxford University Newcomers' Club

The Oxford University Newcomers' Club at the University Club, 11 Mansfield Rd, OX1 3SZ, welcomes the wives, husbands or partners of visiting scholars, of graduate students and of newly appointed academic members of the University. We offer help, advice, information and the opportunity to meet others socially. Informal coffee mornings are held in the club every Wednesday 10.30–12 (excluding the Christmas vacation).
