Concert

Oxford Harmonic Choir presents Spohr: The Last Judgement, 21 March, 7.30pm, in Oxford Town Hall. Volunteers wanted to join the Independent Monitoring Board at Bullingdon Prison, near Bicester. The board’s role is to monitor day-to-day life in the prison, and to ensure that proper standards of care and decency are maintained. Volunteers are asked to commit for up to 3 days per month, at times of their own choosing. Expenses are paid and a financial loss allowance is available. Research participants sought

Female volunteers aged 18 or older required for iron and metabolism study. 2 Wed mornings, 7am to midday, John Radcliffe Hospital. Tests include: leg muscle MRI scan, bicycle exercise and bloods. Digital technologies in teaching: online survey. IT Services' DIGE 2 project is investigating Oxford students' digital experience from both sides of the teaching–learning divide. Aged 65–80 and university educated? Participants needed for study on the effects of ageing on reading and memory. Participation involves computer-based reading task at Department of Experimental Psychology while your eye movements are monitored with a camera, and takes approximately 50 mins. Participants must have English as their first language, with no visual impairments (glasses/lenses absolutely fine) or reading difficulties (eg dyslexia). £5 travel expenses paid. Oxford University Newcomers' Club

The Oxford University Newcomers' Club at the University Club, 11 Mansfield Rd, OX1 3SZ, welcomes the wives, husbands or partners of visiting scholars, of graduate students and of newly appointed academic members of the University.
