Oxford Harmonic Society concert

Oxford Harmonic Society presents a concert of enchanting seasonal music to start the Christmas festivities, including Charpentier's Messe de Minuit pour Noël and Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on Christmas Carols plus works by Monteverdi, Fauré and Pez. Research participants sought

Healthy volunteers required for research study of a drip of iron. Aged 35 to 55? Willing to take part in a research study to look at your body’s response to a single dose of iron into a vein? Study involves 1 screening and 2 study visits to the Department of Physiology. First visit lasts around 3 hours to assess suitability. The two study days last up to 9 hours each. Tests include heart ultrasound and blood tests. You would be paid for time plus travel. You can take part if you are in good health with no problems with your heart, breathing or red blood cells; are not pregnant or breast feeding; have not taken iron tablets or had a blood transfusion in the past 6 weeks; are not very overweight. FMRIB+OHBA Volunteers sought for study exploring perception in autism. Involves simple visual judgement tasks during MEG and MRI brain-scanning plus standardised tests during one 4–5-hr visit. Needed: right-handed participants aged 18–45 with diagnosis of high-functioning autism/Asperger syndrome (we can’t include individuals with epilepsy, on medication that affects the brain (eg antidepressants), or with metal implants/pacemakers). Oxford University Newcomers' Club

The Oxford University Newcomers' Club at the University Club, 11 Mansfield Rd, OX1 3SZ, welcomes the wives, husbands or partners of visiting scholars, of graduate students and of newly appointed academic members of the University.
