¶ Members of Congregation are reminded that any two members may, not later than noon on 28 October, give notice in writing to the Registrar that they intend to oppose or amend either of the resolutions below (see the note on the conduct of business in Congregation below). If no such notice has been given, and unless Council has declared otherwise or the meeting has been adjourned, the resolutions shall be carried, and the meeting may be cancelled.

Voting on Resolutions concerning merit pay and titles for academics

Explanatory Note

Council has approved for submission to Congregation the case for revised arrangements for merit pay and for titles for academics, published with the 17 October issue of the Gazette as Supplement (2) to Gazette No 5036.

Text of Resolutions

1 That the proposals of Council for a new system of merit pay for academics, published as Supplement (2) to Gazette No 5036, 10 October 2013, be approved.

2 That the proposals of Council to rename the main lecturer grades 'associate professor', published as Supplement (2) to Gazette No 5036, 10 October 2013, be approved.
