Research participants sought

Teenage Anxiety Study is recruiting participants to take part in experimental research designed to improve understanding of why many teenagers develop worries and to learn more effective ways of treating anxiety in this age group. Participation involves completing a computer-based task and questionnaire, lasting 45–60 mins in total. We are seeking 12–15-year-olds with no developmental concerns. Healthy volunteers required for research study of a drip of iron. Aged 35 to 55? Willing to take part in a research study to look at your body’s response to a single dose of iron into a vein? Study involves 1 screening and 2 study visits to the Department of Physiology. First visit lasts around 3 hours to assess suitability. The two study days last up to 9 hours each. Tests include heart ultrasound and blood tests. You would be paid for time plus travel. You can take part if you are in good health with no problems with your heart, breathing or red blood cells; are not pregnant or breast feeding; have not taken iron tablets or had a blood transfusion in the past 6 weeks; are not very overweight. Oxford University Newcomers' Club

The Oxford University Newcomers' Club at the University Club, 11 Mansfield Rd, OX1 3SZ, welcomes the wives, husbands or partners of visiting scholars, of graduate students and of newly appointed academic members of the University. We offer help, advice, information and the opportunity to meet others socially. Informal coffee mornings are held in the club every Wednesday 10.30–12 (excluding the Christmas vacation).
