Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences

The Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Board has conferred the Headship of the Sub-department of Inorganic Chemistry upon Philip Mountford, BSc CNAA, MA DPhil Oxf, FRSC, Professor of Organometallic Chemistry and Catalysis and Fellow of St Edmund Hall, for a period of 5 years from 1 October.

The Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Board has conferred the title of Visiting Professor in Impact Engineering upon Professor Stefan Hiermaier, PhD University of the Armed Forces, Munich, Dr Ing habil, currently Deputy Director of Fraunhofer EMI and Professor of High Speed Dynamics at the University of the Armed Forces, Munich, for a period of 3 years from 1 June.

Reconferrals

The Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Divisional Board has reconferred the title of Visiting Professor in Zoology upon Sir Brian Follett, FRS, BSc PhD Brist, DSc Wales, for a period of 3 years from 1 July.

The Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Divisional Board has reconferred the title of Visiting Professor in Microbial Genomics upon Julian Parkhill, BSc Birm, PhD Brist, currently Head of Pathogen Genomics, Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, for a period of 3 years from 1 May.

The Medical Sciences Board has conferred the title of Visiting Professor of Developmental Biology and Genetics on S Brown, MA, PhD, FMedSci, for a further period of 5 years from 1 May 2011.

The Medical Sciences Board has conferred the title of Visiting Professor of Computational Physiology on P J Hunter, DPhil Oxf, ME, FIPENZ(Hon), FRSNZ, FRS, for a further period of 5 years from 1 May. 

The Medical Sciences Board has conferred the title of Visiting Professor of Tropical Microbiology on Dr S Kariuki, BA MSc Nairobi, PhD Liv, for a period of 3 years from 9 June.
