Statutes approved by Her Majesty in Council

Mr Vice-Chancellor has received a communication from the Clerk of Her Majesty's Privy Council, stating that on 30 May 2012 Her Majesty was pleased to approve statutes concerning (i) Statute V; (ii) Basant Kumar and Sarala Birla Graduate Scholarship Fund; (iii) Women Students Fund; (iv) Kelley Reader in Metallurgy; (v) Bodleian Curator of Music Fund; and (vi) Murray Fellowship in History.

Items (i)–(iv) were approved by Congregation on 15 November 2011 (p 135, amendments published on 13 October, p 70); (v) on 13 December 2011 (p 225, amendments published on 24 November, p 146); and (vi) on 17 January 2012 (p 243, amendments published on 8 December, p 173).

The following notice was included in the Gazette of 31 May with Professor Strand's current job title erroneously listed as ' Associate Professor (Reader) in Quantitative Research Methods'

Professorship of Education

Steve Strand, BA PhD Plym, Professor of Education, University of Warwick, has been appointed to the Professorship of Education in the Department of Education with effect from 1 January 2013.

Professor Strand will be a fellow of St Cross.

Dickens and his World: celebrating the bicentenary of Charles Dickens, the exhibition illustrates the relationship between the fictional worlds Dickens created in his novels and the historical reality in which he lived.
