Exeter CollegeSenior Scholarship in TheologyExeter College proposes to elect a graduate to a Senior Scholarship in Theology from 1 October 2011. The scholar is to study for the Final Honour School of either Theology or Philosophy and Theology (second BA). The value of the scholarship will be determined by the college in the light of the scholar's financial circumstances, but may, in appropriate cases, cover all college and University fees for a home or EU student, and provide a maintenance grant of £5,000 per annum. The scholarship is open to both men and women. The successful candidate shall hold, or expect to hold by the time of admission to the scholarship, at least a second-class Honours degree in a subject other than theology. Applications should be made in writing by 15 September to the Academic Administrator, Exeter College, Oxford OX1 3DP (e-mail: academic.administrator@exeter.ox.ac.uk). They should include the applicant's curriculum vitae and the names of two referees, whom applicants should ask to write directly to the Academic Administrator by the closing date of 15 September. The successful candidate will be notified in time for the 15 October UCAS deadline.
Appointment of Academic DeanExeter College proposes to appoint an Academic Dean in association with a fixed-term fellowship. The post, which is tenable for three years, will commence on 1 October 2011. This new post will combine three different positions that have hitherto been performed for limited periods by teaching fellows in conjunction with their academic duties: the Senior Tutor, the Tutor for Admissions, and the Tutor for Graduates. The new post would appeal to an academic who has an interest in helping to steer academic policy in a challenging climate, and who would like to develop his or her leadership skills and administrative experience. The salary will be on the University grade 10 scale (currently £49,342£57,201), dependent on experience. A housing allowance will also be paid.
