Department of StatisticsUniversity Lecturership in StatisticsIn association with Jesus CollegeThe Department of Statistics proposes to appoint a University Lecturer in Statistics to take up this post from 1 April 2011, or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be offered a Tutorial Fellowship by Jesus College, the Kay Fellowship, under arrangements described in the further particulars. The combined university and college salary will be on a scale up to £57,201 per annum, and a college housing allowance of £9,986, responsibility allowance of £1,451, as well as other benefits. The successful candidate will have research interests close to the mainstream of modern statistics, will have a Ph.D or equivalent degree in statistics or a related discipline, and a strong, relevant research record published in leading journals as well as the potential to attract appropriate research funding. The appointee will also be expected to have the ability to teach effectively over a wide range of topics in the undergraduate syllabus of the mathematics and statistics degrees at Oxford, the M.Sc programme in Applied Statistics, provide relevant supervision of graduate students, and to carry out relevant duties of a tutorial fellow.
