Changes in RegulationsThe following changes in regulations made by the Education Committee of Council, and with the approval, where appropriate, of the Education Committee and of the Humanities Board, the following changes in regulations made by the Classics Board will come into effect on 21 May. 1 Education CommitteeDegree of Doctor of PhilosophyWith effect from 1 October 20101 In Examination Regulations, 2009, p. 825, delete ll. 11–15 and substitute: '5. A Student for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy shall cease to hold such status unless it has been confirmed within nine terms of his or her admission to that status (or within a maximum of twelve terms where deferral has been approved in accordance with paragraph 4.1) in the case of a full-time student, or eighteen terms (or a maximum of twenty-four terms where deferral has been approved in accordance with paragraph 4.1) in the case of a part-time student, in accordance with the provisions of this section.' 2 Ibid., p. 831, l. 21, delete 'the oral examination' and substitute 'receipt of the list of minor corrections from the examiners'. 2 Board of the Faculty of ClassicsM.St in Greek and/or Latin Languages and LiteratureWith effect from 1 October 2010 (for first examination in 2011)1 In Examination Regulations, 2009, p. 620, delete ll. 45–48 and substitute: 'Candidates must take three options from lists A, B, C, and D below, at least one of which must be drawn from A or B. Not more than one dissertation (d) may be offered. Every candidate must offer at least one option that requires detailed study of Greek or Latin or of texts in those languages.
