Changes in Regulations

With the approval, where appropriate, of the Education Committee of Council, and, where appropriate, of the Humanities Board, the following changes in regulations made by divisional boards and the History Board will come into effect on 18 December.

1 Medical Sciences Board

(a) Honour School of Medical Sciences

With effect from 1 October 2010 (for first examination in 2011)

1 In Examination Regulations, 2009, p. 340, delete from l. 47 'A list of approved projects' to p. 341, l. 6 'In such cases, the decision' and substitute:

'A list of recent project titles registered by students will be made available no later than Friday of Week 8 of Hilary Term of the academic year preceding the examination, to assist candidates in the choice of topic or general field for the research project.

(ii) Approval

No later than Friday of Week 2 of Trinity Term in the academic year preceding the examination, every candidate must submit as instructed the title of their proposed research project, provide a brief outline of the subject matter and supply details of supervision arrangements. Decision on the proposal shall be made by the Director of Preclinical Studies or his or her deputy and'.

(b) Honour School of Physiological Sciences

With effect from 1 October 2010 (for first examination in 2011)

(ii) Approval

No later than Friday of Week 2 of Trinity Term in the academic year preceding the examination, every candidate must submit as instructed the title of their proposed research project, provide a brief outline of the subject matter and supply details of supervision arrangements. Decision on the proposal shall be made by the Director of Preclinical Studies or his or her deputy and shall be communicated to the candidate as soon as possible, and work should not start on the project until approval has been given. Candidates should allow at least one week for the process of approval, and should bear in mind that an application may be referred for clarification or may be refused.'

2 Social Sciences Board

Postgraduate Diploma in Advance Strategy

With immediate effect

1 In Examination Regulations, 2009, p. 1041, delete l. 2 and substitute:

'STRATEGY AND INNOVATION (PART-TIME)'.

For candidates admitted after 1 October 2009; candidates admitted before this date will be examined according to the regulations in the Examination Regulations 2008'.
