DEGREE DAYS 2010–2012

Ceremonies will be held in the Sheldonian Theatre (or in the Examination Schools, as indicated below) for the purpose of granting graces and conferring degrees on the days shown in this notice. Ceremonies will be held on Saturdays unless indicated otherwise. Unless indicated otherwise, all ceremonies will be divided, the first part commencing at 11 a.m., and the second part at 2.30 p.m.

Note: the Sheldonian Theatre will close for essential maintenance and building improvement work between 27 June and 26 November 2010 inclusive, when ceremonies will relocate to the Examination Schools. The ceremonies to be held in the Examination Schools are marked * in this notice.

Names of candidates must be entered, through the authorities of a college or other society, with the Degree Conferrals Office, Examination Schools, High Street, not later than 12 noon on the Friday fifteen days before the ceremony. The doors of the Sheldonian Theatre (or the Examination Schools, in the case of ceremonies being held there) will normally be open to visitors half an hour before the start of the ceremony. Tickets will be required by visitors, and will be issued through the authorities of the colleges and other societies.

One ceremony will be held in the Examination Schools during the temporary closure of the Sheldonian Theatre for maintenance work (see 'Degree Days' above), and is marked * in this notice. Matriculation ceremonies held in the Sheldonian Theatre or the Examination Schools will commence at 9.30 a.m. Colleges will be notified of their allotted times accordingly.

Ceremonies held in Convocation House will commence at 12.30 p.m.

The Vice-Chancellor regrets that, because of the large number of candidates involved, visitors cannot be admitted to matriculation ceremonies.
