COUNCIL OF THE UNIVERSITYChanges in RegulationsCouncil has made the following changes in regulations, to come into effect on 12 June. (a) Committee to Review DonationsIn Council Regulations 15 of 2002, concerning committees reporting directly to Council or one of its main committees (Supplement (1) to Gazette No. 4634, 16 October 2002, p. 226), delete existing regulation 3.43(3) and substitute: '(3) Chairman of the Conference of Colleges or, subject to the approval of Council, his or her nominee;'. [This change allows the Chairman of the Conference of Colleges to nominate a representative of the Conference of Colleges to serve on this committee on his or her behalf, subject to Council's approval of the individual to be appointed.] (b) Membership of the Board of the Faculty of Music1 In Council Regulations 19 of 2002, concerning Faculty Boards (Supplement (2) to Gazette No. 4628, 26 June 2002, p. 1411, as amended on 5 May 2005, 16 March 2006, 15 May 2008, and 14 October 2008, Gazette Vol. 135, p. 926; Vol. 136, p. 786; Vol. 138, p. 1060; Vol. 139, pp. 4–8), in regulations 17, 19, 22 and 26, delete '38–41' and substitute '40–43'. 2 Ibid., delete existing regulation 27 and substitute: '27. The Board of the Faculty of Music shall consist of: (1) the Heather Professor of Music; (2) the Choragus; (3) the Reader in Music; (4) the director of graduate studies in Music; (5) the director of undergraduate studies in Music; (6) the director of research in Music; (7)–(15) all members of the Faculty of Music who are the holders of University posts as defined in section 7(1) of Statute VII; (16), (17) two persons elected by and from among the members of the Faculty of Music.' 3 Ibid., insert new regulation 28: '28. The board may co-opt not more than four additional members in accordance with regulations 40–43 below.' 4 Ibid., renumber existing regulations 28–42 as 29–43. [These changes, made on the recommendation of the Humanities Board at the request of the Board of the Faculty of Music, remove the category of official membership and substitute ex officio places, reduce the number of ordinary members from six to two, and increase the membership such that all University postholders shall serve on the Board.]
