CONGREGATION 20 January 2 p.m.¶ Members of Congregation are reminded that written notice of any intention to vote against the resolution below, signed by at least two members of Congregation, must be given to the Registrar by noon on Monday, 12 January (see the note on the conduct of business in Congregation at the end of 'University Agenda'). 1 Voting on Resolution approving the conferment of Honorary DegreeThat the conferment of the Degree of Master of Arts, honoris causa, upon MR ANTONY CHARLES WILLIS be approved. Over forty-one years of service, first in the Biochemistry Department and latterly in the MRC Immunochemistry Unit, Mr Willis's technical expertise in protein sequencing and characterisation has contributed greatly to the research of the University and of the wider scientific community. ¶ If the resolution is approved, the degree will be conferred at a ceremony on 9 May 2009. 2 Voting on Resolution authorising expenditure from the Higher Studies FundThat the University be authorised to expend from the part of the Higher Studies Fund earmarked for Social Studies, the sum of £20,000 (£10,000 per annum for two years) to provide research support to Professor Armour, Lovells Professor of Law and Finance.
