Somerville CollegeAppointment of Assistant Academic AdministratorThe Academic Office at Somerville College is responsible for all aspects of academic administration in the college, including academic personnel matters and the student career from application to graduation. This post-holder will have day-to-day responsibility for many areas of student administration, and will be happy working with a wide range of people inside and outside the college. He or she will thrive in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to exercise judgement and prioritise tasks, and be proficient in the use of IT, particularly Microsoft Office. He or she will have previous experience of a higher education environment. This role may assist in developing a career in University administration. The salary for this post is £20,834 per annum, and the normal hours of work are thirty-five per week. (Note: the salary was incorrectly stated in the Gazette published on 4 December 2008.) Benefits include thirty-three days' annual leave per annum (inclusive of bank holidays), membership of a contributory group pension scheme, free life assurance, and free lunch during working hours.
