Appointment of Finance Administrator (temporary)

The Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages wishes to appoint a Finance Administrator to lead the finance team at the faculty offices (41 Wellington Square) as maternity cover for the current post-holder. The position is available from 1 January 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter until 31 March 2010.

The faculty seeks an enthusiastic person who enjoys interacting with people, problem-solving, and working unsupervised. The successful applicant will possess exceptional customer service and communication skills, have a pro-active approach, and be able to use initiative.

The Finance Administrator's main areas of responsibility will be to prepare and monitor budgets, to maintain an overview of research projects and other internal/external grants, service the administration of trust funds and donations, process the faculty's substitute teaching and relief of burdens payments, and line-manage the faculty's finance team of two other staff. Salary is on the grade 7 scale (£28,839–£35,469).
