GENERAL NOTICES

Lady Margaret Hall: Summer Serenade: New Buildings Campaign Celebration Concert and Dinner

On Wednesday, 8 July, Lady Margaret Hall will hold 'Summer Serenade', a concert and dinner for the major new buildings at the college.

The evening will include an indoor concert, 'The Truth About Love', given by members of the London-based CLASSICAL OPERA COMPANY. The concert combines a selection of Mozart arias and duets with readings about love by BILL NIGHY and LMH alumna, DIANA QUICK.

The concert will be preceded by a champagne reception in the front quadrangle, with tours of the new buildings, and will be followed by a gala dinner in the college gardens.

Tickets are £100 each. Half of the ticket price is a donation to the LMH New Buildings Campaign. APPOINTMENTS

Sidney Truelove Professorship of Gastroenterology

FIONA MARGARET POWRIE, B.SC BATH, D.PHIL Oxf, Professor of Immunology and Wellcome Trust funded Senior Research Fellow in Basic Biomedical Science, Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, has been appointed to the Sidney Truelove Professorship of Gastroenterology in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine with effect from 1 October 2009.

Professor Powrie will be a fellow of Green Templeton College.

Conferment of the Title of Visiting Professor

The Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Board has conferred the title of Visiting Professor in Zoology on CHRISTOPHER DYE, BA D.PHIL Oxf, F.MED.SCI, Director of Health Information in the Office of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases, World Health Organisation, for three years from 1 June 2009.
