Violette and Samuel Glasstone Research Fellowships in Science
Violette and Samuel Glasstone Research Fellowships, tenable at the University of Oxford, may be held in the fields of Botany (Plant Sciences), Chemistry (Inorganic, Organic or Physical), Engineering, Mathematics (including Computer Science and Statistics), Metallurgy (Materials), and Physics.
The fellowships are normally awarded for three years (subject to successful completion of a probationary period) and will be available from 1 October 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter.
There is one fellowship for men and one fellowship for women, supported from the Glasstone Fund for Men and the Glasstone Fund for Women respectively.
Salaries: Grade 7: Salary £27,466--£33,780 per annum (with effect 1 August 2008). Additional travel grants and research support grants are available.
Applicants should have submitted for their doctorate by the time of taking up a fellowship (normally 1 October of the year in which the offer is made).
There is no age limit but applicants should not normally have had more than five years of postdoctoral research experience.
