Scholarships and Prizes 2008: Miscellaneous and Multidisciplinary

Pirie-Reid Scholarship

Applications are invited for the Pirie-Reid Scholarship, tenable at the University of Oxford, from graduates (including persons expecting to graduate in 2009) in any field, who wish to commence studying at Oxford in October 2009 for a degree or diploma. Preference will be given to academically excellent candidates who have lived in or been educated in Scotland who are applying from other universities (i.e. are not already matriculated at Oxford). Candidates not fulfilling these criteria are unlikely to be successful.

The Scholarship, which is to be awarded to someone wishing to begin a course of study in Oxford who would otherwise be prevented by lack of funds, will cover University and college fees, normally at 'home student' rates and provide a small grant for maintenance, subject to assessment of other sources of income; a partial award may also be made, which will cover fees only.

Further information and the application form may be obtained from Student Funding and Services, University Offices, Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JD (telephone: Oxford (2)80487, e-mail: student.funding@admin.ox.ac.uk).

The closing date for applications is 1 May 2009.
