Scholarships and Prizes 2008: Travel and Study Abroad

Zaharoff Fund Travel Grants

Applications are invited from graduate students working for Oxford postgraduate degrees and diplomas (other than graduate students under the Board of the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages) to assist with the cost of travel in connection with French studies. Grants when awarded are not normally of a value of more than £250 each and support work in such fields as French art, archaeology, history, literature, and sociology. The fact that the study proposed is to be in France will not in itself qualify it as a branch of French studies. Account may be taken of any other possible sources of financial support available to applicants.

To apply for a travel grant please complete an application form which can be downloaded from the Modern Languages Web site and send by post or e-mail to Prizes and Awards, Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages, 41 Wellington Square, Oxford ( The deadline for applications is Friday of the Third week of Hilary Term (6 February 2009).

The Graduate Studies Committee of the faculty board refers graduate students under the Modern Languages Board to the arrangements for travel grants administered.
