Scholarships and Prizes 2008: Physical Sciences

Keith Prout Crystallography Fund

Grants from the Keith Prout Crystallography Fund may be made to graduate students and postdoctoral workers within five years of obtaining their Ph.D in order to promote work in crystallography. Typical travel grants for overseas events are £200. Grants may also be awarded for other purposes and to facilitate visits to the University by research workers in the field of crystallography from member countries of the European Union. Applications should be sent by e-mail to the chairman of the management committee of the fund, Dr David Watkin (david.watkin@chem.ox.ac.uk) at least two months before the proposed visit. The application should include a one to two page summary of the purpose of the visit, a description of expenses, a summary of awards from other sources and a summary of funds requested. Awards are limited to one only in any 3-year period. Successful applicants are expected to provide a one-page report after the event.
