University Libraries: opening hours, Christmas Vacation 2007–8 Note: 1 Unless otherwise stated, the information given relates to the whole of the vacation opening period. 2 Times given without qualification are for Monday–Friday. Unless otherwise stated, libraries will not be open on Saturday or Sunday 3 Times are given according to the 'twenty-four-hour-clock'. 4 All dates are inclusive.

Zoology Library and Alexander Library0900–1700 Bodleian LibraryAll reading rooms are closed on Sundays. All reading rooms in the Central Bodleian Library (Old Library, New Library and Radcliffe Camera) will be closed from 1700 on Friday, 21 December until 0900 on Wednesday, 2 January. During the Christmas vacation there will be changes to the arrangement of some reading rooms in the Central Bodleian. Early in the vacation Philosophy material will be moved from the Philosophy, Maps and Music Reading Room in the New Bodleian to the Lower Reading Room in the Old Bodleian. The Oriental and Modern Papers Reading Rooms in the New Bodleian will close for a few days to allow for furniture moves and building work in preparation for the launch of the new Special Collections Reading Room. From January 2008 this will be located in the room currently occupied by the Oriental Reading Room. Dates of closures will be advertised when confirmed. During these temporary closures Oriental and Modern Papers services will be run from the Modern Papers Reading Room or the Philosophy, Maps and Music Reading Room.
