Oxford University Newcomers' Club
Oxford University Newcomers' Club has moved to the University Club, 11 Mansfield Rd, Oxford OX1 3SZ. The Independent Monitoring Board at Bullingdon Community Prison near Bicester is looking to recruit new volunteers to join its team. The Board monitors the day-to-day life in the prison and seeks to ensure that proper standards of care and decency are maintained. Special qualifications and experience are not needed and extensive training will be given both within the prison and on external courses. Applications are welcome from anyone over the age of 18 and from all backgrounds and walks of life. Appointments to the Board are made by the Secretary of State for periods of up to 3 years, subject to a probationary period of 1 year from the day the appointment is made.
