Oxford University Newcomers' Club

Oxford University Newcomers' Club has moved to the Oxford University Club, 11 Mansfield Rd. The Club welcomes the wives, husbands and partners of visiting scholars, graduates and members of the University who are new to Oxford. It aims to offer help, advice, information, and the opportunity to meet others socially. Informal coffee mornings are held at the University Club every Wed. 10.30–12 from 0th week to 9th week, inclusive. Newcomers with children (0–4) meet every Fri. in term 10.15–12. Volunteers Sought

Volunteer Guides Required. The Bodleian Library offers local, national and foreign visitors the opportunity to learn more about the historic buildings that form the heart of the University and about the history of the Library's collections from medieval times up to the present day. We have over 200,000 visitors each year for which we provide a range of guided tours and information. For nearly 20 years, these tours have been conducted by a team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. We are currently looking to increase our team of Volunteer Guides and are seeking people with an ability and desire to communicate to visitors accurate information in a clear, friendly manner.
