Appointment of Schools Liaison Officer (part-time)

Petershouse seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic graduate to join its admissions team as a Schools Liaison Officer (SLO). The SLO will work alongside the Admissions Tutors and Admissions Co-Ordinator to develop a programme of school visits, schoolteacher gatherings and other activities in respect of outreach and widening participation.

Good interpersonal skills are essential as the work will involve interacting with a large number of prospective students, teachers, current undergraduates, Fellows and other members of the college. Some experience of the Cambridge college system and/or the secondary school sector is desirable. In addition, good organisational skills and some knowledge of computing are required. A clean driving licence and a willingness to travel on school visits are essential.

The post is available in the first instance for three years. The appointment is envisaged from 1 May 2008. The salary is not less than £22,500 per annum, pro rata, with a competitive package of benefits. The post will be least half-time (average of eighteen hours per week) but overall hours are negotiable.
