Worcester College

Official Fellowship and University Lecturership (CUF) in Old and Middle English up to 1550

In association with the Faculty of English Language and Literature

Worcester College proposes to appoint a Fellow and Tutor in English with effect from 1 October 2008, or as soon as possible thereafter. The fellowship will be held in conjunction with a University Lecturership (CUF) in the Faculty of English Language and Literature. The combined college and university salary is currently on a scale up to £52,628 per annum, plus the allowances which accompany a fellowship at Worcester College (up to £7,387 per annum).

The college and the faculty seek to appoint a specialist in the area of Old and Middle English up to 1550, who would be required to teach for the college in relevant courses in English and its Joint Schools, to give lectures and to undertake graduate teaching and supervision for the faculty. The appointee will also be expected to enhance an already active faculty and college research environment.

Further particulars covering the college and the university posts, and the application and selection procedures, which all potential candidates should consult before applying, may be obtained from the Academic Registrar, Worcester College, Oxford OX1 2HB (telephone: Oxford (2)78342, e-mail: jane.gover@worc.ox.ac.uk), or from the notices section of the college's Web site at www.worc.ox.ac.uk.
