APPOINTMENTSMontague Burton Professorship of International RelationsANDREW JAMES HURRELL, BA Camb, M.PHIL D.PHIL Oxf, Director, Centre for International Studies, University Lecturer in International Relations and Fellow of Nuffield College, has been appointed to the professorship with effect from 1 January 2008. Professor Hurrell will be a fellow of Balliol College. Norman Collisson Professorship of Musculoskeletal SciencesCYRUS COOPER, MA Camb, MB BS DM Lond, Professor of Rheumatology and Director, MRC Epidemiology Resource Centre, University of Southampton, and Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist, Southampton General Hospital, has been appointed to the professorship with effect from 1 August 2007. Professor Cooper will be a fellow of St Peter's College. Professorship of LinguisticsADITI LAHIRI, BA MA PH.D Calcutta, PH.D Brown, Professor and Chair in General Linguistics, University of Konstanz, Germany, has been appointed to the professorship with effect from 1 October 2007. Professor Lahiri will be a fellow of Somerville College. Recognition of DistinctionThe following title has been conferred by the Vice-Chancellor on the behalf of the Recognition of Distinction Committee: C.D. MCKENNA, BA Amherst, MA Delaware, MA PH.D Johns Hopkins, MA Oxf, Fellow of Brasenose: Reader in Business History and Strategy, with effect from 1 September 2007.
