Corrigendum

In Table 3a, 'Average of achieved A-level scores by subject', published in the Undergraduate Admissions Statistics for 2007 (Supplement *2 to Gazette, Vol. 138, p. 4), the score for Computer Science should read 29.7 (not 24.7, as printed).

APPOINTMENTS

Directorship of the Department for Continuing Education and Presidency of Kellogg College

JONATHAN MICHIE, M.SC Lond, MA D.PHIL Oxf, Professor of Management, University of Birmingham, and Director and Head of School, Birmingham Business School, has been appointed to the directorship and presidency with effect from 1 April 2008.


Conferments of the Title of Visiting Professor

The Social Sciences Board, on the recommendation of the Department of International Development, has conferred the title of Visiting Professor on PROFESSOR G. LOESCHER, BA St Mary's College of California, MA Monterey Institute of International Studies, PH.D Lond, from 1 January 2008 to 31 December 2010.

The Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Board has conferred the following titles:

Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor in the Principles of Civil Engineering Design: DR RICHARD SNELL, F.R.ENG, FICE, Senior Adviser at BP (for three years from 1 December 2007).

Rudolf Peierls Visiting Professor in Physics: PROFESSOR FRANK WILCZEK, BS, MA, PH.D, Herman Feshbach Professor of Physics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (for three years from 1 December 2007).

Visiting Professor in the Principles of Engineering Design (reconferment): PROFESSOR R.D LOHR, Technical Director of Transense Technologies (for three years from 1 January 2008).
