English for Academic Studies

Academic Writing—Key Issues in Academic Writing
EFL Intensive Course in Week 9 (3–7 December)

This one-week/fifteen-hour intensive course is specially designed to enable those with heavy schedules to take the course in academic writing. The programme is similar to that covered in the Michaelmas term time course. Topics dealt with include: variations in academic writing, language patterns, linking ideas, signalling logical relations, taking an appropriate stance, expressing levels of certainty, tense and function and articles. Time: Monday to Friday mornings. Course fee: £100.

Catch Up—Brush Up Courses in Week 9 (3–7 December)

The Language Centre will also be offering a series of sixteen-hour intensive courses in week 9 for those still on waiting lists and for those who wish to refresh their language skills.
