Scholarships and Prizes 2007:
Miscellaneous and Multidisciplinary
Kevin Slingsby Prize for Funnel VisionThe Funnel Vision prize is open to all BFA students at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art. It aims to encourage creative and original thinking, and is awarded on those grounds, rather than for a specific piece of work, and regardless of media. The prize judges shall be one member of the Ruskin staff, up to three members of the Slingsby family, and a guest judge selected by the Slingsby family. The guest judge shall be someone who can inspire the students and present a talk about his or her work during the morning of the prize day, to make an exciting event of the whole occasion. Entries comprising a statement of up to 50 words and three images should be e-mailed to the judges (post@rebeccahind.com) before the deadline, which will be announced at the start of Trinity Term. The judges other than the member of the Ruskin staff will draw up a shortlist. Shortlisted students will be visited in their studios to discuss their work with the judges, on the day of the prize giving. Entries shall be judged during the second week of Trinity Term and a prize of £500 awarded if an entry of sufficient quality is submitted.
