Scholarships and Prizes 2007:
Faculty of Theology Graduate Studentships 2008
The Board of the Faculty of Theology proposes to offer a limited number of graduate studentships, tenable from the Michaelmas Term 2008. Studentships may be tenable with a studentship at a college. The amount of the awards will be decided by the Theology Studentships' Committee. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence and financial need. Should awards be made to cover university/college fees, such awards will be payable at the 'home' rate. Those students paying fees at the 'overseas' rate will be expected to make up the difference.
Applications are invited from graduates reading for higher degrees under the Board of the Faculty of Theology. Applicants for admission to the status either of Probationer Research Student (this includes M.St Research) or Registered Master of Philosophy Student from Michaelmas Term 2007 are also eligible to apply. New admissions, and those who already hold either Probationer Research Student (MSt research included) or Registered Master of Philosophy Student status should submit the following materials to Mrs E.A. Macallister, Theology, 41 St Giles', Oxford OX1 3LW, to arrive not later than Monday, 7 January 2008: (i) A description of the research that the candidate intends to pursue for the degree of D.Phil (ii) Two academic references in sealed envelopes. (iii) A full academic curriculum vitae, including academic records. (iv) A sample of scholarly writing not exceeding 5,000 words in length. (v) A statement of funds currently available for the academic year for which you intend to apply, and details of any funds received thus far in your graduate programme.
Applicants should indicate whether, if they were offered a studentship in conjunction with a studentship at a college, they would be free to become a member of that college.
