Scholarships and Prizes 2007:
Miscellaneous and Multidisciplinary
Applications are invited for the Pirie-Reid Scholarship, tenable at the University of Oxford, from graduates (including persons expecting to graduate in 2008) in any field, who wish to commence studying at Oxford in October 2008 for a degree or diploma. Preference will be given to candidates who have lived in or been educated in Scotland who are applying from other universities (i.e. are not already matriculated at Oxford). Candidates not fulfilling these criteria are unlikely to be successful.
The Scholarship, which is to be awarded to someone wishing to begin a course of study in Oxford who would otherwise be prevented by lack of funds, will cover University and College fees, normally at 'home student' rates and provide a small grant for maintenance, subject to assessment of other sources of income; a partial award may also be made, which will cover fees only.
Further information and the application form may be obtained from the Student Funding and Access Office, University Offices, Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JD (telephone: Oxford (2)70040, e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org, web: www.admin.ox.ac.uk/io)
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 1 May 2008.
