Oxford University Society Awards

Applications are invited for the Oxford University Society's annual awards for students. Awards are offered in the following three areas:

Maintenance and General Non-Travel Expenses

These awards are intended for all projects which do not include travel expenses, and the category of general expenses includes not only hardship needs, but also recreational activities other than travel.

These awards are to assist student groups with the funding of expeditions approved by the University Expeditions Council.

Travel other than on University Approved Expeditions

The Society will consider applications for travel awards from individuals looking for support for travel not related to their course of study or to gain professional qualifications.

The Awards Committee encourages personal initiative and enterprise in applications.

The deadline for applications is 4 p.m. on Friday, 16 March, and awards will be distributed in Trinity Term. Further details of the awards, including application forms and information on how to apply, can be found on the Society's Web site,

Oxford University Society East Kent Branch Awards

Applications are also invited for the Oxford University Society East Kent Branch Awards.

The East Kent Branch wishes to make two grants of a minimum of £600, according to the nature of the project, to two deserving first or second year undergraduate students from East Kent, to assist in their 2007 summer activities. The awards will be based on the relevance of the projects to the degree courses, and the likelihood that the amount will be sufficient, when added to other resources in hand, to achieve the stated goals. These grants will not be limited to activities that entail travel abroad.

The deadline for applications is Sunday, 15 April, and announcements will be made in late April. Further details may be found on the Society's Web site
