GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE OF COUNCILChanges in RegulationsThe General Purposes Committee of Council has made the following changes in regulations, to come into effect on 26 January. Clubs CommitteeIn Council Regulations 2 of 2004, concerning Other University Bodies (Supplement (2) to Gazette No. 4702, 30 June 2004, p. 1237, as amended on 21 October 2004, 28 April 2005, 17 November 2005, 12 January 2006, 4 May 2006 and 21 September 2006, Gazette, Vol. 135, pp. 244, 882; Vol. 136, pp. 342, 481, 989; Vol. 137, p. 2), in Part 4, delete existing regulation 4.1 and substitute: '4.1. There shall be a Clubs Committee consisting of: (1) the Assessor, who shall chair the committee; (2) the Assessor-elect; (3) a member of Congregation, being a Senior Treasurer of Amalgamated Clubs, appointed by the Conference of Colleges; (4) a member of Congregation, being a Senior Treasurer or Senior Member of a sports club registered with the Proctors, appointed by the Sports Strategy Committee; (5) a resident student member appointed by the Graduate Committee of the Oxford University Student Union; (6) a resident student member appointed by the Executive Committee of the Oxford University Student Union; (7), (8) two resident student members, being the secretaries of a non-sports club or publication registered with the Proctors, appointed by the Clubs Committee.' [This change, made on the recommendation of the Clubs Committee, removes the now redundant provision for 'a resident student member nominated by clubs and societies currently renting rooms or storage facilities allocated by the Clubs Committee' and, in order to maintain adequate student representation, increases to two the number of student members who are secretaries of non-sports clubs or publications registered with the Proctors.]
