APPOINTMENTS

James Meade Professorship of Economics

H. PEYTON YOUNG, BA Harvard, PH.D Michigan, Professorial Fellow, Nuffield College, Scott and Barbara Black Professor of Economics, Johns Hopkins University, and Senior Fellow in Economic Studies and Co-Director, Center on Social and Economics Dynamics, the Brookings Institution, has been appointed to the professorship with effect from 1 September 2007.

Professor Young will remain a professorial fellow of Nuffield College.

Conferment and Reconferment of the Title of Visiting Professor

The Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Board has conferred the title of Visiting Professor in Zoology upon PROFESSOR TIM BLACKBURN, B.SC Manc, D.PHIL Oxf, Professor of Macroecology, University of Birmingham, for three years from 1 April 2007.

The Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Board has reconferred the title of Visiting Professor in Microbial Genomics upon DR JULIAN PARKHILL, B.SC Birm, PH.D Brist, Head of the Pathogen Sequencing Unit, Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, for three years from 1 May 2007.
